A dental implant is the closest thing to a natural tooth when you have lost one. A small titanium post is placed in the jawbone to act as an artificial root, and a crown, bridge or denture is attached on top. At Brampton Smiles, every implant case starts with a 45-minute consultation that includes a CBCT 3D scan, a written treatment plan and a clear price, all before any treatment is booked.
Implant options
- Single tooth implant. Replaces one missing tooth without grinding down the teeth next to it.
- Multiple tooth implants. Replace several teeth, with implants supporting a bridge or separate crowns.
- Full-arch implants. A fixed, screw-retained set of teeth for a whole arch that does not come out. If you prefer a removable option, see implant-supported dentures.
Why people choose dental implants
- They look and feel close to natural teeth.
- They are stable, so you can eat, speak and smile without worrying about teeth moving.
- No denture adhesives or creams.
- They help stop neighbouring teeth from shifting.
- They help keep the jawbone strong, which supports your facial structure.
- You care for them like natural teeth, with brushing, flossing and regular visits.
What to expect: your implant journey
- Consultation and 3D scan (about 45 minutes). We look at your bone, gums and bite, go over your goals and give you a written plan and price.
- Preparation. If a tooth must come out or the area needs healing first, we plan that step with you.
- Implant placement. The implant is placed with local anesthetic. Oral sedation is available if you are anxious.
- Healing. The implant fuses with the bone over several months. Your dentist will give you a timeline based on your case.
- Final tooth or teeth. Once healed, your crown, bridge or denture is attached.
- Maintenance. Regular cleanings and check-ups keep the implant healthy.
Am I a candidate?
Most adults with healthy gums and enough bone can be considered. The 3D scan shows the amount and shape of your bone. If you have gum disease, it needs to be treated first. Your dentist will explain whether implants, a bridge or a denture suits you best.
Dental implant cost and payment in Brampton
The cost depends on how many teeth you are replacing, whether you need bone or gum work first, and the type of final tooth. We do not post a price list because every case is different. You get a clear written price at your consultation, and our fees follow the Ontario Dental Association fee guide. We offer 0% in-house payment plans on implant cases, direct billing to your insurer, and CDCP is welcome. Ask the front desk what your plan covers before you start.
Caring for your implant
- Brush it like a natural tooth with a soft toothbrush and low-abrasive toothpaste.
- Floss daily, taking care not to push floss under the tooth.
- Rinse to clear bacteria and food around the implant.
- Keep your 6-month hygiene visits.
Before Your Visit
- Bring a list of your medications and any medical conditions.
- Bring old X-rays if you have them, and your insurance or CDCP card.
- Tell us if you smoke. It affects healing, and we will plan around it.
- Think about what matters most: chewing, appearance, cost or time.
- For the day of surgery, ask the front desk about eating, medication and whether you need an escort if you choose sedation.
After Your Treatment
- Leave the surgical site alone. Do not rinse, spit or touch the wound on the first day.
- Bite on gauze for 30 minutes if bleeding is heavy.
- Ice the cheek 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off for the first 36 hours.
- Eat soft foods and drink plenty of fluids. Avoid hot food and drinks.
- From the next day, rinse gently with warm salt water 4 to 5 times a day and brush the area carefully.
- Do not wear a partial denture, flipper or full denture for at least 10 days unless we tell you otherwise.
- Call us if bleeding is heavy or pain is not getting better each day.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the dental implant process take?
It takes several months because the implant needs time to fuse with the bone. Your timeline depends on your case and is explained in your written plan.
Does getting an implant hurt?
The procedure is done with local anesthetic, and oral sedation is available. Patients often say minimal pain is felt, and any soreness afterward is managed with over-the-counter pain relievers or what we prescribe.
Can I get an implant the same day as the consultation?
The consultation and 3D scan come first, so we can plan properly. Same-day consultations are often available.
How much do dental implants cost in Brampton?
It depends on your case. After your consultation and scan you receive a written price. We offer 0% in-house payment plans.
Does insurance or CDCP pay for implants?
Coverage varies by plan. We direct-bill your insurer and welcome CDCP patients. Ask our front desk and we will check what applies to you.
What is the difference between implants and dentures?
Implants are fixed in the bone and do not need adhesive. Conventional dentures rest on the gums and can be taken out. A middle option is an implant-supported denture that snaps onto implants.
How do I look after my implant?
Brush, floss and rinse daily, and see us for cleanings every 6 months.
