What can be part of a smile makeover?
- Teeth whitening to set the colour.
- Cosmetic bonding for small chips, gaps and edges.
- Porcelain veneers for stains, shape and length across the front teeth.
- Clear aligners such as Invisalign or SureSmile if your teeth are out of line.
- Tooth-coloured fillings to replace visible old fillings.
- Gum health care so your foundation is healthy before anything cosmetic is done.
How we plan your smile
- Free consultation (30 minutes). We talk about what you like and dislike about your smile, take photos and an intraoral scan, and show an on-screen preview.
- Health first. Cavities, gum problems and bite issues come first, because cosmetic work on an unstable base will not last.
- Treatment order. We usually whiten first, then align, then bond or place veneers. If your bite is off, aligners come before veneers.
- Written estimate. You see costs and timing for each step before you commit, with no obligation.
- Review and refine. Mock-ups let you ask for changes before the final result.
Gentlest option first
Dr. Abbas begins with the least invasive treatment that can reach your goal. Often whitening or bonding does more than patients expect, and two shades of improvement is often enough. Veneers are discussed when they are the right tool, not as a default.
How long does a smile makeover take?
It depends on what is included. Whitening takes about an hour in the office. Veneers are delivered the same day once you approve the design. Aligners take months. Your written plan lists the steps and timing for your case.
Cost, insurance and payment plans
Smile makeover costs depend on which treatments you choose and how many teeth are involved. Fees follow the Ontario Dental Association fee guide, and you get a written estimate at your free consultation. Cosmetic treatments are generally not covered by insurance, while some parts, such as fillings or a repair to a damaged tooth, may be. CDCP does not cover cosmetic procedures. We run a predetermination to confirm what your plan pays. We offer 0% in-house payment plans, so you can spread the cost, and we direct-bill Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life and Green Shield.
Before Your Visit
- Bring photos of smiles you like and photos of your own teeth from the past.
- Write down what you want to change and what you want to keep.
- Think about your timeline, for example a wedding or event.
- Tell us about sensitivity, grinding and past dental work.
After Your Treatment
- Follow the care steps for each treatment in your plan. Our veneers, whitening and bonding pages list them.
- Wear your nightguard every night if you were given one.
- Avoid biting hard objects with your front teeth.
- Keep your 6-month cleanings so we can check your work and bite.
- Call us if anything chips, feels loose or changes your bite.
